Configuration
You can access the configuration dialog through the Configure button at the bottom
of the PokerEval window.
- Initialization timeout (sec): the number of seconds to wait for Java to become ready. If your machine is slow, you may want to increase the value to prevent getting a failure notification.
- Number of open cards draws: the number of random draws on the board used for the evaluation.
- Number of hidden cards draws: the number of random draws on the hole used for the evaluation.
Note that the actual number of tested hands is the multiplication of the two number of draws above. The higher
numbers you set, the more accurate the evaluation is. Of course, this causes the response time to increase, so
you may want to tune those parameters depending on your computer's speed to keep an acceptable processing time.
- Default result mode: this define how the statistics are displayed.

- Evaluation: when the checkbox is selected, the evaluation is automatically performed
whenever a card changes. Otherwise, you will have to click the Evaluation button in order
to see the propabilities.
- Disable Auto scan (min) when a refset has been installed, PokerEval will regularly
scan your screen to detect displayed cards from a poker server. If you are no longer playing at
a poker table but did not close the PokerEval window, this takes useless CPU out of your computer.
This parameter allows to automatically stop the scanning after a number of minutes without
recognizing the table. To re-enable the scanning, click on the Auto eval checkbox at the
bottom of the PokerEval window. If you set 0 for this field, the scanning will never stop while
PokerEval window is open.
- Card selector cells: if selected, the face buttons at the left of the card and
the suit ones at the bottom are shown.
- Starting hand info: select the type of information displayed next to the hole cards
to describe the value of your pre-flop hand.
- Hole cards: if selected, when using automatic scanning, the last recognized hole cards
remain displayed, even if they disappear from the screen. This helps seeing what would have
happened if you didn't fold your hand.
- Hand name: if set, the name of the hand (i.e. Pair of Kings) is displayed
above the statistics.
- Auto capture period (msec): the number of milliseconds to wait between 2 screen
scanning when using a refset.
- Configuration: the drop down list shows all the seats available from the installed
refset for recognizing the cards. The picture below the menu displays a snapshot of the
table to better identify the desired seat.
