User Manual : Refset

Selecting cards

In order to evaluate a hand, you need to select both cards from the hole (the cards that are normally hidden to other players) and 0 to 5 cards from the board (the open cards common to all players). All the selected cards must be different, otherwise the evaluation won't be possible.

The card selector allows to select a card by simply clicking a face (A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 or 2) on the left and a suit (Spade, Heart, Diamond, Club) at the bottom. The image of the selected card is displayed.

You can speed up the selection by using the wheel of your mouse. Move the mouse over the faces and you can walk up and down through the faces. This is the same for suits. If the mouse is over the card image, rolling the wheel up changes the suit, wheel down for the faces.

Click on the card image to reset the card.

Refsets

If you play online poker against other players, the process for selecting cards certainly be too slow to use the software efficiently.

PokerEval has the capability to read the cards directly from the screen without the need for any manual action. As online poker servers display various bitmaps at different positions for drawing the cards, PokerEval needs to be configured to recognize such or such poker table. The configurations for a number of poker tables are available as refsets.

A refset is a file that can be downloaded from www.poker-eval.com through a special PokerEval interface. In order to get a refset installed on your machine, check our page of available refsets.

Click on the Configure button at the bottom of the PokerEval window to open the Preferences. You can select a particular refset seat from the Configuration field.
